Sonia Selbie

Sonia Saw her start in the business at the age of 3 where she became a pupil at the Russell - Leite Theater School in Manchester, England. It was there that she trained in all aspects of Dance, Voice & Drama for 13 years and her first venture into the world of Entertainment would begin.

Age six, at an audition for a Major Pantomime Starring comic legends "Little and Large" the room of eager children were asked if anyone could sing....not knowing if she could Sonia's hand went in the air!.... Well, it gained her the Pantomime and indeed her first feature solo in the show - "I'm only a poor little Sparrow"

This one song lead to what would become a very busy but exciting childhood for Sonia.

Just months later she would become one of the famous Diddymen working alongside the UK's King of Comedy KEN DODD!......Sonia worked with Ken for over 9 years touring the UK Theater Circuit, Pantomimes, Television appearances and ALWAYS with a solo in the show!

Sonia also appeared during these years in the National tours of "Joseph and his amazing technicoloured Dreamcoat", "Jesus Christ Superstar", " James and the Giant Peach", "Paddington Bear the Musical" and "Rupert Bears Magical Musical" Where she played the role of "Tigerlilly". Also, Sonia had the pleasure to sing with  The Kirov Opera Company during their UK Visit, She performed for Prime Minister Thatcher at the London Palladium, Opened a new Christmas Stamp and managed to do all the above leaving School with pretty decent grades and a Teachers Diploma in Ballet....Not a bad way to make it 16 years of age!

At 16 Sonia Joined the Musical Theater Cast of "Sudden Impact" as the Lead Vocalist Performing book shows of West End and Broadway Classic Musicals, It was during this time that she would start work on her one woman show and record her first Album. Not long after leaving "Sudden Impact, Sonia took her show "On the Road" where she would gain recognition and awards such as "Female Vocalist of the Year" and "Most Promising Newcomer" by the Agents Association of Great Britain.

During her time touring with her show Sonia still performed in several Theater Shows, took the Lead Vocal for the Show band "Flair" and  trained with Starlight Express the Musical in Skate School!

By the age of 21 it was time for Sonia to Travel outside of her native UK and off to Cruise Ships she went and her journey to Royal Caribbean International began!....Sonia was a staple Featured Vocalist for RCI for many years and it was here that she would finally find the "right" venue for her one woman show!

On her return to the UK Sonia starred as the Leading lady in " Mad About The Musicals" this took her to the best Theaters in the UK and Ireland, many of which she had performed at back when she was 7! It was also around this time she was given the  opportunity to record her 2nd Album "Being Alive" and train with Meridian TV as a host and anchor!

In 2005 the funny girl found her partner and sharer of life, her husband Clark, this would not only be a huge point in her life but would also take her out of the UK for good and in 2008 Sonia moved to Nashville, TN which she now proudly calls HOME!

Sonia can always be found these days travelling with her one woman show performing on lines such as Princess Cruises, Holland America and Royal Caribbean International. She has also been very privileged to have been asked to Direct For RCI and at times can be found installing the immense talent at RCI including staging and installing the "Summer Breeze" show on the Oasis of the Seas a huge highlight of her extremely awarding entertainment career.

So, what next you ask?...Well, Sonia is busy recording new material for not one but two new albums including a Christmas Album due this 2011 holiday season!......She is also entering the world of Voice Over's, Still traveling with her show, writing, directing, well, it's a never ending world of entertainment and strings to her bow for this funny little lady of drama!
